RabbitSoftware press kit
Everything here may be quoted. Please keep the limits with the claims: RabbitSoftware is research tooling, not clinical software, and its chain is a tamper-evident log, not a cryptocurrency.
In one line
RabbitSoftware builds research software you can check: public sources attached to every answer, your data kept on your own device, and a public record of what changed that anyone can verify.
Short descriptions
25 words
RabbitSoftware is local-first research software with sources attached to every answer, personal data kept on your own device, and a public, checkable record of changes.
50 words
RabbitSoftware builds local-first research software: tools to read public biomedical literature with sources attached, keep personal data on your own device, and check a public, tamper-evident record of what changed, timestamped through Bitcoin. Created by Chase Allen Ringquist. Research tooling, not clinical software. rabbitsoftware.io

RabbitSoftware is an independent project that builds research software people can inspect, question and control. Its hosted workspace, RabbitOS, is open without an account: it shows public research records with their original source links (PubMed, Europe PMC, ClinicalTrials.gov, ClinVar and others), an open data hub, a brain and body explorer, and AI chat where users approve what is sent. Personal data stays on the user’s own device. Changes to the open research data are written to a public, hash-linked ledger that is copied to several places, mirrored by a small proof-of-work chain, and timestamped through Bitcoin using OpenTimestamps, so anyone can check that nothing was quietly altered. The ledger is a tamper-evident log, not a cryptocurrency, and a timestamp shows when something existed, not that it is true. RabbitSoftware is research tooling, not clinical software. It is created and maintained by Chase Allen Ringquist. rabbitsoftware.io

Key messages
- Check the work. Every answer keeps its source. Every change leaves a record anyone can verify.
- Your data stays yours. Personal data stays on your device; the public chain only holds fingerprints and public records.
- Honest about limits. Research prototypes are labeled as such. AI summaries are labeled unverified. Timestamps show when, not whether it is true.
- Checkable. The status page, the ledger, the Maxwell chain and the Bitcoin timestamps are public, so claims can be tested rather than trusted.
What we do and do not claim
| We say | Tamper-evident, publicly checkable, timestamped through Bitcoin, local-first, research tooling. |
|---|---|
| We do not say | Decentralized, unhackable, immutable, guaranteed, a cure or a diagnosis, an investment, a token or coin, or that AI output is verified. |
| If asked about health | RabbitSoftware does not diagnose, recommend treatment or edit DNA in a body. It is for exploring public research. |
| If asked about money | There is no token or sale. The project is not accepting donations at the moment. |
How to verify what we say
- The chain, explained includes step-by-step ways to check the ledger, the Maxwell chain and the Bitcoin timestamps yourself.
- The status page shows what is answering right now and when the research agents last reported.
- Known gaps lists what is not finished.
