RabbitSoftware Local Agent 0.2.1
Author: Chase Allen Ringquist. UPL-1.0; see NOTICE.txt.

REQUIREMENTS
Python 3.10 or newer; no extra packages for local/public modes. Optional signed
account reads need cryptography (requirements-account.txt). Tested on Windows/3.12.
Extract this whole ZIP, then open a terminal in its folder.

START
python run_agent.py --host 127.0.0.1 --port 8765

Open http://127.0.0.1:8765/ in your browser. Stop with Ctrl+C.
This command uses your explicitly remembered source, or labeled demo records
if no source has been configured. Invalid saved settings fail rather than fall back.
Never bind to a public/network interface; only 127.0.0.1 is allowed.
If the port is occupied, choose a different --port (do not kill other programs).
On Windows use py -3 if needed; on macOS/Linux use python3 if needed.

MODES
Offline lookup: list/search/show entries in the demo or explicitly selected file.
Europe PMC: public literature search; no key needed.
Tavily: optional general web search with YOUR OWN key:

python run_agent.py --host 127.0.0.1 --port 8765 --tavily

Enter your key in the hidden terminal prompt, not in a URL, command argument,
website form, or chat. It stays in process memory; never written to disk or
shown in the browser. Keep pay-as-you-go off in your Tavily account if you
want to avoid provider overages. This program does not manage your billing.

Every live search requires a fresh consent checkbox and sends only the query
to the selected provider, over HTTPS. Local records are never added to searches.
Only one provider request per submission; at most five attempted searches per
rolling hour per process, including failures. Restarting resets the local limit.
There are no autonomous loops, full-page fetching, model calls, or AI summaries.
Public paper/web results are NOT chain entries. Read sources; not medical advice.
Pattern checks cannot catch all private information. Do not enter personal,
genomic, biosignal, identifying, health data, or credentials into search questions.
Typing sends nothing. No browser storage or chat history is created by the app;
your browser may retain history and your terminal may retain scrollback.
The server reads only selected files; no filesystem browsing or uploads.
Local machine users can access this loopback service: do not use on a shared
untrusted computer. The session token and origin/host checks protect form requests,
not against malware or other privileged local processes.

LOCAL RECORDS
python run_agent.py --host 127.0.0.1 --port 8765 --chain "C:\path\to\records.json"

Use the formats and signed account options documented in CLI-README.txt.
Existing public research/Maxwell archives and account DNA JSON are supported.
Classification is declared, not independently verified. The included rabbit.py
uses the same source selection. Private records remain isolated from providers.

python research_viewer.py
This starts the same loopback-only interface using the remembered source.
Select and remember an actual source once:
python research_viewer.py --chain "C:\path\to\existing-chain.json" --remember
Or use --public-corpus for the existing public corpus, NOT a blockchain.
For signed Cloudflare account sources, use --credentials plus --dna or
--snapshot-kind/--snapshot; see CLI-README.txt. No dashboard token is accepted.
No inspected owner records are bundled or published. No real device credentials
are bundled; signed account requests are tested with generated test keys only.

DOWNLOAD INTEGRITY
Compare the ZIP SHA-256 with https://rabbitsoftware.io/agent before extracting.
Get-FileHash .\rabbitsoftware-agent-0.2.1.zip -Algorithm SHA256
FILES.sha256 lists hashes of extracted files. Checksums are not independent
signatures. Review source before running; never pipe downloads into a shell.
No original model, private records, credentials, or installed packages included.
